Hello, everyone, welcome to my website! What is Idyllwild Arts Academy? Imagine a high school that has perfected the art of arts education. It's Idyllwild Arts Academy, a close-knit, working community of students and teachers whose passion for the arts is balanced by a dedication to learning. Idyllwild Arts offers a disciplined college preparatory program for grades 9-12 and post-graduates—along with world-class training in creative writing, dance, film & video, interdisciplinary arts, music, theatre and visual art. I want nothing more than to attend this school and pursue my love of dance. This opportunity goes beyond just a high school performing arts school, this is my chance at a college education as well. All the best colleges around the nation come to Idyllwild to seek out students for their programs.
My name is David Strong. I go by the name of DJ and I'm 17 years old. I come from a single parent household living on a very low income (my mom was affected by the economy), so needless to say we live on an extremely tight budget with no room for give. A year ago, I met Carolyn Farrar, the owner of Premiere Dance Center in Redmond, WA, when I tried a hip hop class at her studio. She saw something in me and knew I loved to dance. Knowing our financial situation Miss Carolyn offered me a scholarship for her dance classes. I fell hard and fast. I took to dance with ease and truly am in love with it. People say I'm naturally gifted, I just know I love to be on stage doing my passion, to just dance. On July 15th, Idyllwild Arts Academy in California offered me a spot in their dance program. They only take 30 dancers a year and I'm one of them..... to top that off they gave me a very large scholarship.
This is the part where I ask for your help. I need to raise 7,165.00.
AND ...travel expenses. . If you could help with just a small donation I will in return do the best I can to be the best I can be. Every little bit helps get me closer to attending this great school.
I would like to thank all of you for your love and support.
